Murat is a Research Scientist in the Accelerated Materials Design and Discovery
program at Toyota Research Institute (TRI). Prior to TRI, he was the Materials Informatics and
Infrastructure Postdoctoral Fellow at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in the Materials
Project team. Dr. Aykol received his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from
Northwestern University, where he worked on high-throughput computational discovery of
battery materials. He uses a wide array of materials informatics techniques in his research, from machine-learning, data-mining to network analysis and is broadly interested in the use of AI for materials discovery, and addressing complex issues from synthesizability to degradation.
